Just like “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”, there are several things you can do for your computers health to prevent it from getting infected. It’s not enough that you installed antivirus software, configured it for automatic updates and scans. It is important that you verify virus definitions have a current date and that the scans are actually running. Implement OpenDNS for basic web filtering and to prevent anti-phishing attacks. Rule of Thumb: If something doesn’t look right, don’t click on it or don’t open it. i.e. “Funny Video of you @ tinyurl.com/2342jsdaa” |
